We've picked a few of the top options out there currently for you to take a look over. The first pick is one designed for small songbirds such as Eastern Bluebirds, Carolina Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, White-breasted and Brown-headed Nuthatches, Carolina Wrens, various species of Warbler and more. The hole size is just right for these smaller birds, but it will restrict access to larger birds like Eastern Blue Jays, American Robins, European Starlings which will allow them to eat in peace and not be threatened! We prefer to use this feeder with dried mealworms for the largest variety of birds that you won't see with seed alone. It will work with seeds as well of course!

In the center, we have a more "universally sized" option which will allow birds of all sizes and shape (well, not Crows, Ravens).  However, this could be used for smaller birds as well as those medium sized ones. Again, we prefer to use a feeder like this with mealworms, but hulled sunflower would be a great option as well! This way there will be no messy shells " to clean up below the feeder! Probably the biggest benefit to this feeder is the fact that it's made of recycled plastics and it will last for years and years!

The third option below, on the right of the three includes a post mount so the feeder can be positioned higher up on a pole with a baffle, (which is ALWAYS our recommendation) to keep Squirrels or Raccoons away. This feeder is more of a center piece, with a grand roof and aesthetically appealing color combination, it's also the most expensive of the 3 picks below!

The Kettle Moraine Feeder is built with thick, durable cedar boards and quality hinges. It has openings on the ends of the feeder to allow smaller birds inside to eat, without harassment from larger birds! Cedar also has the advantage of being a natural deterrent to moths and other pest insects. Click the image above to purchase it from Amazon today!

The DutchCrafters bird feeder is made of recycled plastics right here in the USA. Extremely durable, easy to clean, weather-proof and nice looking as well! Having just replaced our porch stairs with Trex composite boards, we feel like this is a great long-term feeder option for those looking to purchase more durable bird feeders!

This gorgeous bird feeder is a focal point for any serious bird feeder station. It is made from cellular PVC which is weatherproof and durable, and features a fantastic looking copper roof which will only look better and better with age. This feeder also has a large feed capacity and mounts perfectly to a 3.5" x 3.5" post, which is the standard 4x4 wood post sold in home improvement stores nationwide (Here in the USA).
